Mechanical Keep-Cold Device:
The Mechanical Keep-Cold is a float activated device used to maintain liquid in the VJ Pipe line and vent the excess gas created by normal heat leak. This helps provide liquid on demand to your application and eliminates cool-down time. The Mechanical Keep-Cold should be located at the high point of the VJ Piping system, with proper sloping and as close to the use point as possible.
Phase Separators:
Phase Separators are typically used in applications where a single bulk tank is being used to provide both high pressure (90-150psig) Nitrogen gas and low pressure (5-30psig) liquid Nitrogen. The Phase Separator takes in the higher pressure (warm) liquid nitrogen, drops the pressure, vents off the unwanted “flash”, and delivers a low pressure (cold) liquid Nitrogen to the equipment. Contact our factory for a Phase Separator custom made to your specific application.
Scale-Based Tank Switcher:
Tank switchers are used in applications that require multiple liquid cylinders to be used in succession without interruption. This system effectively increases the LN2 supply by connecting up to four Liquid Cylinders (Dewars) and automatically switching to a new cylinder as each cylinder is empty. Our weight-based system is the most reliable means to detect when a cylinder is empty, ensuring a continuous LN2 supply and avoiding costly premature switching.
Vacuum Gauge Tube (DV-6R):
A Vacuum Gauge Tube is used to monitor vacuum levels in individual factory sealed spool sections using a Hasting (DV-6R) Meter.
Pressure Relief Valve Assembly:
Cryogenic liquids are constantly boiling and will build pressure if trapped in the piping by a valve or cap. To avoid dangerous over-pressurization and to protect the VJ pipe, Quality Cryogenics will install
pressure relief valves, set to the design pressure, as required in the system.
Vacuum Jacketed (VJ) Valve
VJ Valves are designed to have low heat leak and will not frost up during operation. These valves are built into the VJ piping and are typically used as in-line isolation valves or where superior thermal performance is required.
Internal Gas Traps:
Internal gas traps are used at the vertical drops / use points and are designed to keep liquid Nitrogen from "sitting" on un-insulated valves or components. This eliminates ice and condensation from forming at the end of drops when LN2 is not flowing.
Vacuum Jacketed SuperFlex Hose:
VJ SuperFlex Hoses remain warm and flexible during the transfer of cryogenic liquids. The vacuum insulation minimizes product loss and eliminates ice build-up. Note: MAWP =150 psig, not compatible for LOX Service.
